Publishing a book well is mostly unglamorous work

The writing is yours and it's the hard part. What comes after is a list of technical jobs with right and wrong answers. Trim sizes, bleed, spine width, EPUB structure, categories, ISBNs, retailer specs. Done properly nobody notices. Done badly it's the first thing a reader mentions in a review.

Our skilled team at Publisher In USA is committed to transforming your manuscript into a masterpiece, meticulously crafting every detail from cover design to interior layout. But our dedication extends beyond just publishing. We provide tailored marketing strategies specific to your book’s genre and target audience, ensuring your book achieves its full potential and gains the recognition it deserves in the literary world. Let’s embark on this exciting journey together!

How the work actually runs

Five stages, and you sign off at every one. Nothing moves to the next stage until you've said yes to the last.

01

Proposal

Tell us where the book is and what you want it to do. We'll tell you what it actually needs.

02

Manuscript Submission

Scope and price agreed in writing before anyone starts. You know the number up front.

03

Production

Editing, layout, cover, whatever the scope says. You approve each stage as it lands.

04

Proofreading

Final proof on the typeset pages, plus a physical proof copy before anything gets printed at volume.

05

Publication

Retailer setup, metadata, categories and keywords. Then the files and logins come to you.

Genre changes the job

It isn't a label we put on the invoice. Genre decides trim size, cover conventions, editing rules and which categories are worth fighting for. Here's roughly how it shifts.

Cookbook published by Publisher In USA

Cookbooks

Full colour, image heavy, fixed layout. The costliest format to print and the least forgiving on photo resolution.

Art book published by Publisher In USA

Art and photography

Colour accuracy and paper stock do most of the work. Worth proofing physically before any volume print run.

Children's book published by Publisher In USA

Children's books

Page count in multiples of eight, character consistency, and artwork built around the gutter and the trim.

Nonfiction title published by Publisher In USA

Nonfiction

Structure carries it. Usually 6x9, white stock, and categories chosen on real search demand rather than instinct.

Memoir published by Publisher In USA

Memoir

Often better in your own voice, in print and in audio. Smaller trims suit it, and the structural edit matters more than the line edit.

Fiction title published by Publisher In USA

Fiction

Cover conventions are strictest here, because readers sort by genre in under a second. Cream stock, and a series plan before book one launches.

What you're actually buying

Publishing services is a category with a bad name, and it earned it. So here's what the work is, in plain terms, before anyone asks you for money.

Someone who tells you what the book needs

Not every manuscript needs every service. Some need a structural edit and nothing else. Some are ready and just need production. The first useful thing anyone can do is read it and tell you honestly which one you've got. A company that recommends the full package to everyone isn't reading manuscripts.

Production that clears the retailers

Interior layout, cover, ebook build, audio if you want it. All of it built to the spec KDP and IngramSpark actually validate against, so the upload goes through first time. Most of this job is technical, and most of the failures are technical.

Metadata done deliberately

Categories, keywords, description, series fields. This is the cheapest lever in publishing and the one most authors never pull. It costs nothing to get right at setup and it's awkward to change once the book is live.

Your files and your logins at the end

Print ready PDFs, source files, retailer accounts in your name. You should be able to walk away with everything and not need our permission for anything. If a company won't do that, ask why.

Fair questions to ask us, or anyone else

If you've been burned before, or you've read enough to be nervous, these are the questions that separate a real service from a vanity press.

Who owns the rights?
The only correct answer is you, all of them, in writing. If a contract takes a share of your rights or your royalties in exchange for production work, that's a vanity press with better branding.
Who is the publisher of record?
If they give you a free ISBN, they are. If you own the ISBN, you are. It's a small detail until you want to move the book somewhere else.
Can I see the scope before I pay?
Written scope, fixed number, before work starts. Anyone who wants a deposit before you've seen what you're getting is asking you to trust them with the thing you care about most.
What happens if I don't like it?
Ask what the revision rounds are and what counts as a new brief. Get it in writing. This is the single most common thing people argue about later.
Do I get the source files?
Layered cover files, print ready PDFs, the lot. If the answer is no, every future change has to come back through them, and they know it.

What we're not

We're not a publisher. We don't acquire your book, we don't take a share of your royalties, and we don't put our name on the copyright page. You hire us for production work, you get the files, and the book stays yours. If that sounds like a smaller offer than the ones you've been reading, it is. It's also the one you can check.

Why Choose
Publisher In USA?

You've probably heard that publishing services take your money, take your rights and go quiet. The industry earned that reputation. So here's how we work instead.

You keep everything

Your rights, your royalties, your files. Nothing we make gets licensed back to us.

You see it before you pay

Scope in writing first. No work starts on a handshake and a number that moves later.

You can walk away with it

Source files, print ready files, accounts and logins. All handed over, all in your name.

We'll tell you no

If your book doesn't need a service, we'll say so. That's cheaper for you and better for us.
